Oxford is a beautiful University city in England.
It has been a town since 9th century and has an ancient university.
My friends and I recently visited Oxford for a day out.
Here are my impressions:
We finished a wonderful day out in Oxford
with a traditional English Cream Tea.
Cream tea – refreshments
In August I went on holiday to different places for short periods.
( Mallorca- Spain and Germany)
In Mallorca the palm trees were my favourite, ( see here)
In Germany the lakes for swimming were super.
This is the dress I bought in Mallorca.
With Spanish temperatures in Bavaria I could wear it again.
Here is the proof….. I went into this lake too….
yes, I did go deeper and swam, it was so refreshing.
What a view of the blue sky …… under the shade of a tree.
The flowers with all the different vibrant colours always bring a spectacular show.
I also have learnt how to make the best latte or cappuccino, with frothy milk.
Goes really well with a slice of Black Forest Gateau.
Life is good!
Enjoy every moment!
I have been away to celebrate my mum’s 90th birthday.
My mum deserved a great Birthday Party.
She is doing well and could enjoy everything to the full.
We had a lovely celebration, great food ,
lovely company and everyone was happy.
Never forget to tell your loved ones that you love them.
❤ ❤ ❤
While we were there, we visited the Rainforest there too.
Yes, it was in Germany,
still we walked through the forest
and it rained heavily. 🙂
At the end of the walk we were rewarded
with the view of the local waterfall.
falls 37 meters down and had lots of water as it had rained a lot before.
You cannot drive to the waterfall but have to walk as there is a conservation area around it. It is beautiful to walk through the forest, and only hear the birds, the splashing of the little stream next to you and then the tossing of the waterfall.
As it is June everything is beautifully lush and green.
Here 2 pictures from my mum’s garden, I particularly like.
What a perfect rose!

At the airport in Stansted waiting for our plane… and here it comes already!
We went to see my mum’s mum in Germany and I could see my friends!
This is in the front garden, I loved this long grass!
I met ‘Brauni’, he is my gran’s teddy and we enjoyed some wonderful cuddle time together!
This is “Petzi” my sister’s very old Steiff Teddybear… he must be about 53 years old…. oh yes I can see some grey hair…. hehe. He is lovely and still dressed in my mum’s old baby clothes. He has got plasters on his paws as the straw was falling out, but his heart is a pure loving teddy heart. We did have a great chat and a lovely time together…..and when mum wasn’t watching……. we got up to bit of mischief.
I climbed all the bushes in the back garden…. lucky I had fur it was quite cold for August.
This is the town and every time my mum visits they have changed the roads or put up new buildings. This tower is one of the old towers and part of the town wall which went all round the town. Opposite is the brand new Town festival hall. A very big building I thought.
At the end I found a picture of my mum being about 21 then… I couldn’t help myself and sneaked it in the post… hope she doesn’t notice!
This is me on our way home again…. quite exhausted….
Another day we went sailing….. to China… to get some tea.
… we visited an English tea clipper the Cutty Sark from 1869.
I think my mum did already mention it in a blog post before but now we went inside this big Sailing ship.
It was amazing!
There were Tea chests, many ropes, and I had so much fun exploring the ship!
We could also walk underneath the ship, as it is all newly restored….. that was a view!
Definitely worth a visit!
When you come to London, I can take you there!
While we are talking ships….. my mum wanted to put more pictures from the second day of the festival on…. she did have more fun and more fireworks. She enjoyed it so much !
