A short holiday in Spain

You all know how I love my palm trees

so we had a short holiday in Spain near Barcelona.

We stayed in Calella in Catalonia.

A wonderful beach welcomed us and

just listening to the sound of the waves was so relaxing and calming.

Calella had wonderful plants,

a lovely church,

a light house

small streets with delightful shops

and amazing houses with cacti growing up… over 2 floors

We enjoyed the warmth and the beautiful beach.

and had a relaxing time.

A truly wonderful short holiday!

A day out in Germany

Danny was travelling again.

We had just one day but Danny saw some lovely sites.

We went to Lichtenstein Castle,

Danny climbed everywhere to have his picture taken.

After a piece of cake we went to explore the “Nebelhöhle

A large cave with stalactites and stalagmites.

The very end of the cave is bathed in constant changing lights.

It looks amazing!

A day in Oxford

Oxford is a beautiful University city in England.

It has been a town since 9th century and has an ancient university.

My friends and I recently visited Oxford for a day out.

Here are my impressions:

Danny meets old friends

Danny traveled again this time to Germany

visiting old friends.

He met Petzi, a senior teddy,

He couldn’t hold back his excitement  and jumped right up to say hello.

Then they chatted for a long time.

In town he saw water, a plastic cow,

blue sky and beautiful snowdrops.

Danny found his favourite:

a ” Schwäbische Brezel”

Danny met also his other friend “Breuni” in Germany.

They enjoyed a good chat and cuddle next to Spring flowers.

After a week of sunshine he said good bye to Germany in rain

which gave us a beautiful picture of this snowdrop.

Wishing you all a wonderful and

love filled week !

How to relax – bear style – Danny’s weekend

Danny’s first trip in the 2017 took him to Norfolk in England.

He planned a relaxing weekend away.

He stayed in a Mock Elizabethan Grad 2 listed Building, which is a 4 star hotel, near Norwich.

A beautiful building with fountain

First he enjoyed a wonderful cup of tea,

before going to the swimming pool to swim and relax.

Then a visit to Norwich with its castle:

Back to the hotel for a wonderful sleep in the spacious bed

The next morning was verrrrry cold….

Such fantastic icicles.

… and it was time to go back home to London.

Now that was a calm and relaxing time.

Why not try it yourself!

Holiday time

In August I went on holiday to different places for short periods.

( Mallorca- Spain and Germany)

In Mallorca the palm trees were my favourite, ( see here)

In Germany the lakes for swimming were super.

This is the dress I bought in Mallorca.

With Spanish temperatures in Bavaria I could wear it again.

Here is the proof….. I went into this lake too….

yes, I did go deeper and swam, it was so refreshing.

What a view of the blue sky …… under the shade of a tree.

The flowers with all the different vibrant colours always bring a spectacular show.

I also have learnt how to make the best latte or cappuccino, with frothy milk.

Goes really well with a slice of Black Forest Gateau.sst

Life is good!

Enjoy every moment!

I do!

Birthday and Rainforest

I have been away to celebrate my mum’s 90th birthday.

My mum deserved a great Birthday Party.

She is doing well and could enjoy everything to the full.

We had a lovely celebration, great food ,

lovely company and everyone was happy.

Never forget to tell your loved ones that you love them.

While we were there, we visited the Rainforest there too.

Urahcer Wasserfall (1)

Yes, it was in Germany,

still we walked through the forest

and it rained heavily. 🙂

At the end of the walk we were rewarded

with the view of the local waterfall.

Urahcer Wasserfall (3)

The Uracher Wasserfall

falls 37 meters down and had lots of water as it had rained a lot before.

You cannot drive to the waterfall but have to walk as there is a conservation area around it. It is beautiful to walk through the forest, and only hear the birds, the splashing of the little stream next to you and then the tossing of the waterfall.

As it is June everything is beautifully lush and green.

Here 2 pictures from my mum’s garden, I particularly like.

More amazing nature!

Iceland has many different views …here are more…. amazing waterfalls…

Seljalandsfoss a 60m waterfall in a lovely location, surrounded by cliffs and green slopes.

A footpath leads behind the waterfall… little bit wet….

such beautiful green….

This is Eyjafjallajokull, the volcano which broke out in April 2010 and had me and mum stranded in Germany for a week because of the ash in the air so the planes couldn’t fly. We now saw it dormant with snow. (1660m high) I never thought I would see this volcano.

Then we went to a crashed plane wreck on the coast on black sand. It was a US Navy DC3 and it crashed 1973 because it ran out of fuel. All survived and it turned out later that the pilot switched to the wrong fuel tank.

I went even inside….

It feels it is in the middle of nowhere but in the back you can see the glacier.

Black sand just everywhere.

Very little growth…

I loved the sand and the sea, it was sunny too, see I tanned a bit!

This is the Solheimajokull glacier.

It says that with the global warming it can disappear within 100 to 200 years.

The last stop was the huge Skogafoss Waterfall.

We got very wet, but as the sun was shining the rainbow went all the way round.

So beautiful!

We walked all the way to the top.

We had a busy day and chilled out with an original Icelandic yogurt – Skyr

We enjoyed the whole experience as well as the Icelandic food!

I can only recommend Iceland for its nature, wonderful people, clean air, amazing drinking water ( ph 8.8- tastes fantastic) and its food.

I hope you enjoyed my day trip as much as I did!

News and travel

Firstly here

a new coffee shop I found yesterday on my travels on the bike.

coffe shop Marsh lane

It used to be a rundown house , derelict and look what glorious plants are painted on the wall.

The window is painted on too.

I am ready for my next adventure, all packed, got my passport, got money and ready to fly off.

I am so excited to see a new country.

Can you guess where I am going?
