My new adventure

Standard

Learn something new they say.

It is never too late to learn something new.

Since I was younger I was always fascinated by the Double Bass.

When I saw it in an orchestra or just in a small Jazz band I wanted to have a try myself on picking.

This dream has finally come true with the help of my sister.

I have a Double Bass on hire for a while at home and I am learning the notes and scales.

Learn something new.
Try something different.
Convince yourself that you have no limits.

Brian Tracy

What would you like to learn?

Every leaf is unique

Standard

Looking closer at an Agave at Kew Gardens, you can see clearly that every leaf has a unique pattern of the way it has grown from the inside.

The leaves have similar patterns but evey one is unique to its’ unfolding.

We are unique creatures, every one of us.

Be YOU.
Don't be someone else.
YOU are a unique individual.
Be proud... rock it loud.

Outing in nature – part four – Rye

Standard

Our next stop was Rye a small English town by the coast in East Sussex. In the centre, cobbled lanes like Mermaid Street are lined with medieval, half-timbered houses. Mermaid Street is most famous where the Mermaid Inn is located which was used by smugglers. The historic houses date back from 15th century – many are 500 and 600 years old. You find also a Castle and the Ypres Tower.

Many of the old houses in the centre have lovely names above the door:

The house with two doors

The house with the seat

The house oppsite

Every house is made up beautifully with flowers in the front. I can imagine they are rather quirky inside.

Outer beauty is what the eyes can see,
inner beauty can only be seen through the heart.

Outing in nature – part three – Bateman’s House

Standard
We went along to Bateman's, which was Rudyard Kipling's house for 34 years and were he died in 1936. It is a 17th century house, beautiful with vast land around as Rudyard Kipling bought more land during his time there.

Rudyard Kipling's most famous fiction is the Jungle book.

Rudyard Kipling was the most famous author in England, and was earning £5,000 per year; the cost of Bateman's, £9,300, was thus entirely affordable. ( A secretary earned around £80 a year).
He wrote many stories in this house, his American wife made sure he would not be disturbed uncessessay.

His rather large blue Rolls Royce from the 1920’s was displayed in the garage. He loved that car. It was behind glass and the picture did not come out.

Never give up – like Nature

Standard

I was walking through a forest with trees fallen down.

Yet still more growth comes through the trunk which lies on the forest ground.

It reminded me that

Nature never gives up.

new beginnings

Every day is a new beginning.

Take a deep breath, smile

and start again.

If you don't give up on something
you truly believe in,
you will find a way.
Roy T. Bennett
You should never give up.
No matter how hard the situation is,
always believe that
something beautiful is going
to happen.

If you are in a situation like that at the moment,

please know that you are not alone and you are precious and loved.

My best wishes for you

and may the rise for you soon again.

I think I have learnt something and hopefully I’ll get round it and it will become easy.

There is still so much to explore.

Thomas takes it easy and just relaxes on his new favourite spot.

The sofa next to the window, the best place when the sun shines.

Wishing you all a very relaxing day!

Snow

Standard

Many countries have had lots of snow and really cold arctic temperatures.

I have seen beautiful snow pictures from other bloggers.

Here in London,

we had it cold (as it seemed for us) but not bitter cold

and little snow like a dusting some days.

Here are my only impressions from the Winter.

On my walk to work, I liked these

It is lovely to see the little snow crystalls.

Hello December – December the 1st – We open the first window in our advent calendar

Standard

Welcome December !

The Motto for December is:

Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

It had been a very different and hard year for the whole world.

Yet there is still always something good in every day.

This is what we need to celebrate.

We have adapted to the new normal and

we are still learning.

Love is always there and we need now more than ever.

Spread the love and kindness,

find something to celebrate everyday!

Sending my love all over the world to you

wishing you a peaceful December !

For December I will post a quote or saying every day

so you can “open” a window in my Advent Calendar.

♥ Enjoy ♥
