Jo Blankenburg was born in 1972 in Germany now based in Los Angeles. He writes music for film and motion picture advertising. Some of his most popular tracks have been used in the advertising campaigns of the Hunger Games, Harry Potter and the deathly hallows, X-men, How to train your dragon and many others.

His first solo album Vendetta for Position Music was released in 2011, the songs of which have been used for the advertising campaigns of many major movies and television shows.

His second album Elysium has just been released by Position Music. It is one of those albums you like every single track. It is beautiful, emotional, fantastically composed music. It is available now on Amazon and iTunes.

It was recorded in the Czech Republic during 3 days. It contains choir lyrics in Latin and Sanskrit.  It features the Capellen Orchestra and Choir conducted by Petr Pololanik. (Same as Thomas Bergersen’s Illusion Album)

Elysium is out of this world. It is a feast for your ears and mind. Every single track has its own beauty, harmony, and style. The tracks are relaxing, slow, soft, epic, dramatic, melodic, action packed and you can let your imagination go. There is a sense of adventure, dramatic action and wonder, listening to the piano, strings, drums and choir in perfect harmony. The choir is not overpowering and you can still hum and sing with every track.

Jo Blankenburg is an extremely gifted and one of the best composers out there, for listeners who appreciate real beauty of music. I certainly became a big fan of his. He is close to his fans and keeps updating his facebook and has a great website.
