Weekly inspiration No 23 – Meditating tips

Standard

To begin your day this way

is the best way.

Meditation helps tremendously here.

I have recently  found a fantastic free App for my Smart phone

called Insight Timer.

It gives you the choice of guided meditations

or timed meditations.

On the featured meditations

there are some for stress,

mindfulness,

gratitude,

body scans,

sleep

and many more.

I have done some sleep ones too and they are just amazing.

You have a profile and collect stars for consecutive days of meditation.

With this App , I am eager to meditate every day,

whereas before I wanted to but didn’t always get around to it.

I always find time to do it now.

I feel great and calmer, more mindful, peaceful, happy  and less stressed.

Have a go and check it out.

With love

from me

Washing up – Mindfulness Meditation

Standard

washing-up2For most of us

washing up is a chore.

But you can change that.

Make it your daily

mindfulness meditation routine.

Feel the warmth of the water caressing your hands

washing-up1

feel the soft bubbles,

move slowly around the plate,

smell the scent of the washing up liquid.

feel the smooth surface

enjoy the different shapes of the dishes

washing-up

be aware of the beautiful pattern on the plate,

dwell on the plate for a while,

think of how it got there.

Caress the spoon with your sponge,

feel the smoothness of the cleaned glass,

feel calm, don’t rush,

be conscious of the moment.

*****

Small every day tasks are not wasted moments

but part of precious moments we have in our lives.

Enjoy Washing up!

Mindfulness is the energy of awareness. It’s being conscious of the existing moment. Of living life deeply throughout each day and being fully alive, right here, right now. It is connecting with what we do and also with what and who is around us.

Jon Kabat-Zinn puts it a bit better
‘Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment and non judgmentally’

The most precious gift, we can offer others is our presence.

When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers.
