Welcome to the Forest

Standard

Last weekend, the Borough I live in had a special celebration.

The Borough is called Waltham Forest, it has a nice forest close.

This Borough has become the first Borough of Culture

as a London Borough.

The launch of this was celebrated on 3 evenings along the main street.

The Townhall had films projected on it:

Different Artists performed in the street:

All different ‘light’ ideas looks fantastic.

A ring of light made incredible patterns in the sky

and could be seen from far:

With my dance group I performed some dances we had learnt.

The atmosphere was amazing and it was so much fun!

( Some Action Pictures)

My favourite dance was Chorus Line!

I felt humbled and privileged that I am part of such a lovely community

and could give something towards the celebration.

All pictures are my own, taken on my phone.

Looking forward to more events during the year!

Another Performance

Standard

It was time again for a new dance performance

Tap and Freestyle.

For Tap we did a Tango – routine to

‘Perhaps, perhaps,  perhaps’

followed by another routine to ‘my future husband’ – Megan Trainer.

I loved every bit.

This was the outfit!

For Freestyle we danced to ‘Shut up and dance’

we wore a lovely red skirt with petticoat, silver belt, white T-shirt and red scarf.

I did love the petticoat, it makes dancing even more fun!

We also did a great routine to Justin Timberlake – I got this feeling:

We had a fantastic time, so did the audience.

Broadway next…… ?????  🙂

Dancing feet

Standard

I saw those dancing feet…..

Have a guess in what….

I had the right skirt too….

Yes,

in 42nd Street!

What a fantastic show!

I saw it 1988 the first time with Catherine Zeta Jones and loved it…

Now 2017 again, this time with Sheena Easton, amazing again.

Just listen to those taps…  ♥♥♥♥♥

A real feelgood song!

…you can dance,

 you can jive

having the time of your life…..

Weekly Smile #39

smile

In choir yesterday we started a new song:

Guess what….

One of my favourite musicals

Singing in the Rain

singing-in-hte-rain

It is not that easy as we sing harmonies

but it is great fun.

The lyrics say:

‘Let the stormy clouds chase everyone from the place

Come on with the rain, I’ve a smile on my face…..’

and there it was:

my smile got bigger

As you all know I was practicing for

a Tap Charleston Performance

during the last year.

We now had our performance and it was a great success.

I loved it, having the Flapper dress on and

enjoy 6 minutes of the roaring 20’s.

Rainbow – scones – music

Standard

“Around us, life bursts with miracles–a glass of water, a ray of sunshine, a leaf, a caterpillar, a flower, laughter, raindrops. If you live in awareness, it is easy to see miracles everywhere. Each human being is a multiplicity of miracles. Eyes that see thousands of colors, shapes, and forms; ears that hear a bee flying or a thunderclap; a brain that ponders a speck of dust as easily as the entire cosmos; a heart that beats in rhythm with the heartbeat of all beings. When we are tired and feel discouraged by life’s daily struggles, we may not notice these miracles, but they are always there.”
― Thích Nhất Hạnh

Nancy from Strawberryindigo posted this this morning on Facebook and I love it so I like to share it with you all.

I saw some buds on a tree outside and had already a little Spring feeling.

and it is weekend hurray…..

Sunshine when I got up so I decided to do the shopping,

Reached the shop, it was pouring with rain, and terribly windy and cold

Got the shopping in,

totally dark outside now,

so I decide to dance to some music. Made me warm and happy. Music is magic!

Sunshine back out,

do some washing, have a cappuccino,

and the next downpour is here.

Exercise on my exercise bicycle and see the beautiful rainbow.

rainbow

Sun back out….. for how long…… ???

I say thank you for the rain, thank you for the sunshine, thank you for the music, thank you for the rainbow.

Thank you for all the miracles I have around me.

“Each morning when you open your eyes, think only three things: Thank you, Thank you, Thank you”

I bought some scones , jam and double cream for a cream tea later….

why don’t you join me?

Enjoy and relax with me!

with an old song I always loved….The Riddle, different version….
