Another Performance

Standard

It was time again for a new dance performance

Tap and Freestyle.

For Tap we did a Tango – routine to

‘Perhaps, perhaps,  perhaps’

followed by another routine to ‘my future husband’ – Megan Trainer.

I loved every bit.

This was the outfit!

For Freestyle we danced to ‘Shut up and dance’

we wore a lovely red skirt with petticoat, silver belt, white T-shirt and red scarf.

I did love the petticoat, it makes dancing even more fun!

We also did a great routine to Justin Timberlake – I got this feeling:

We had a fantastic time, so did the audience.

Broadway next…… ?????  🙂

Mindful Day – Music

Standard

Today have a specially mindful day

How about

you listen to a piece of music

without doing something else.

Close your eyes and enjoy the instruments playing,

listen to the music in detail,

hear the different instruments,

enjoy the soothing sound,

give thanks to your ears picking up the sound.

and most of all

Relax

How about this one:

Dancing feet

Standard

I saw those dancing feet…..

Have a guess in what….

I had the right skirt too….

Yes,

in 42nd Street!

What a fantastic show!

I saw it 1988 the first time with Catherine Zeta Jones and loved it…

Now 2017 again, this time with Sheena Easton, amazing again.

Just listen to those taps…  ♥♥♥♥♥

Weekly Smile #39

Standard

smile

In choir yesterday we started a new song:

Guess what….

One of my favourite musicals

Singing in the Rain

singing-in-hte-rain

It is not that easy as we sing harmonies

but it is great fun.

The lyrics say:

‘Let the stormy clouds chase everyone from the place

Come on with the rain, I’ve a smile on my face…..’

and there it was:

my smile got bigger

How to prepare for a James Bond Night

Standard

bond2

James Bond Night

bond-3

how exciting,

a local event in aid of Amnesty International.

 I had to think….

how do I prepare for a James Bond night.

Homework….

3 basic ideas came to mind:

Going as a Bond girl I needed to think of

What to wear: – a glamorous  sparkly dress

bond-night-2

Diamonds are forever : – a diamond bracelet/ brooch

What does Mr Bond drink….

research: Martini – shaken not stirred

bond-4

“Bond also drinks gin, beer and champagne in the books and films, and in Casino Royale orders a drink he names a Vesper: “Three measures of Gordon’s, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet, shake it over ice, and then add a thin slice of lemon peel.”

*****

Luckily I just found a Ball room gown my mum wore about 45 years ago.

I tried and it fitted.

Diamonds- nobody knows if they are real as long as they are sparkly

So off I went.

IL DIVO night

Standard

I was fortunate to get tickets for an Il Divo concert in the London O2 Arena yesterday.

Il Divo 13.5 (5)

Il Divo are 4 young men with amazing voices, they have been created 12 years ago and go from strength to strength.  I have followed them for at least 9 years now. They do sing pop opera or as it is called popera.

They are David Miller ( American) Tenor, Sebastian Izambard (French) Tenor, Urs Buehler (Swiss) Tenor and Carlos Marin (Spanish) Bariton.

I got tickets for their tour called Amor et pasion which goes up to November and they are visiting all different cities all over the world.

Il Divo 13.5 (7)

In this tour they added solos, dancing and playing instruments themselves to their amazing singing.

They also added dancers to some of their latin american songs.

It was a feast for ears and eyes.

There were 7000 people there and we didn’t want to let Il Divo go home, demanding more songs which they gave us. ❤

It was a totally enjoyable and amazing evening and I can only recommend that if they are near you, go and see them.

This was after the final good bye song!

Here another beautiful track.

Still smiling?

Standard

Good Morning my friends.

It has been a while

since I had enough time to sit and compose something

and visit all your blogs regularly.

Even though holidays I have been away and had visitors,

which I thoroughly enjoyed.

feel good

Finding new places in London to show my visitors I stumbled on some

yet fairly unknown places.

One of them is Crossrail place.

This is a new development, not even finished,

but the beautiful roof garden is finished.

It looks rather futuristic.

It features plants from East and West, meeting in the middle. A calm garden on top of a new railway station which is being build in Canary Wharf. It was calm and quiet in the middle of a concrete world. We had a lovely walk and enjoyed the amazing plants and trees there. Have a look for yourself!

There was a piano in the middle of the building so I couldn’t resist to do a fun bit on it which my aunt taught me.

It was great fun and a great place to visit!

More discoveries in the next post!

Keep smiling and enjoy the warmer weather!
