Picture of the Week #47

As Winter and Christmas is coming, it is getting colder.

My Christmas cactus seems to know it too.

I brought it in as it has buds again this year.

Food for thought

Cold tea and cold rice is bearable,
but cold looks and cold words are not.

One kind word can warm three winter months.

Japanese Proverb
 Stay warm ♥

Mimi update.

The buds are now blooming, and I counted 11 blooms this morning.

It feels just like in Kew Gardens.

I am overjoyed.

Food for thought

Never cut a tree down in the wintertime.
Never make a negative decision in the low time.
Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods.
Wait.
Be patient.
The storm will pass.
The spring will come.

As the weather is mild still,

my strawberry is blooming again.

Food for thought

Every morning is a fresh beginning.
Every day is the world made new.
Today is a new day.
Today is my world made new.
I have lived all my life up to this moment, to come to this day.
This moment - this day - is as good as any moment in all eternity.
I shall make of this day - each moment of this day - a heaven on earth.
This is my day of opportunity.

Going through drawers, I found toys my sister and me played with.

We loved playing with our wooden Domino, wooden farm,

Monkey box, and our wooden trolleys and top trump game (ships)

Schnipp Schnapp is a fun card game

I used to play with my own children often too.

I remember our childhood with much fondness.

Food for thought

A happy heart is good medicine
and a cheerful mind works healing,
but a broken spirit dries up the bones.

Proverbs 17:22
Be happy!

What a beautiful house from the 17th century in my village in Germany.

It was renovated in 2015 to it’s original glory.

Food for thought

Always remember to forget the things
that made you sad,
but never forget to remember the things
that made you glad.
Keep your happy memories close!
