We are staying with fireplaces this week,
as we found another beautiful fireplace in another room,
hidden behind a 50’s wooden board.

After cleaning and repainting, it will look great.
It is so much fun to discover new things and to restore them.
Food for thought
Most of the things you see, touch, and use today were thought to be impossible as little as 10-20 years ago. "Impossible" usually only means "hasn't been done... " yet.

How wonderful & pretty! Enjoy.
I agree, I love it Cindy. Have a lovely day!
omg Ute!! you have so many hidden treasures in your home!!
Why would they put a board on top of that???
Is it the home you have always lived or is this a new one?
I know, why would they put such an ugly board over it. Nobody knows. This is a new home, or rather will be when we finished renovating it. It is really exciting.:-)
awesome!! so excited for you! may you find more beautiful hidden treasures!!
Thanks , indeed, We are having fun here 🙂
What a lovely find, Ute! The more the merrier. 😍
Absolutely 🙂
How exciting! What unexpected treasures you are discovering – makes the move even more fun. 🙂
It really does Sally, I love it!…..waiting for that Roman Mosaic in the garden, hehe
Wouldn’t that be magical? 😊
How enchanting to find surprise fireplaces in your home! Why on earth would someone cover it up? Enjoy these gifts given to you from your home!
Exactly my thoughts. So lovely , I am enjoying it thotoughly.
Love the food for thought ❣️
Thank you 😊
I can’t wait to see all of these Ute !
In it’s full glory 🙂 yes
There are many homes that have these hidden features – I think people of the 60s & 70s preferred a more modern look right? But these original features are beautiful 🙂 xx
You are right, we thnk it was in the 60s when it was hidden. The house is from the 30s. funny how we love it again nowadays! thanks Gill, keep well!
A lovely hidden treasure that you have found! Looking forward to seeing how you fix it up and show us with another of those sliding photos. How do you do that? I’d like to try that sometime.
❤️carmen
Thanks Carmen, it is fun finding the lovely bits in the house. Carmen, you’ll find that sliding photo under new Block ‘Media’ and it is called ” image compare” then you upload the 2 images you want to compare. That would work really well on your blog with some different coloured outfits, where you have 2 of them. 🙂 Looking forward to see it on your blog. Keep warm ♥
Thanks for the tip! I’ll try it!
Go for it! ♥
Liebe Ute,
habt Ihr ein Haus gekauft?
