Picture of the Week #14

We are staying with fireplaces this week,

as we found another beautiful fireplace in another room,

hidden behind a 50’s wooden board.

before and after

After cleaning and repainting, it will look great.

It is so much fun to discover new things and to restore them.

Food for thought

Most of the things you see, touch, and use today
were thought to be impossible as little as 10-20 years ago.
"Impossible" usually only means
"hasn't been done... " yet.
This one started to bloom……. with all this rain and wind we are having at the moment.

  1. How enchanting to find surprise fireplaces in your home! Why on earth would someone cover it up? Enjoy these gifts given to you from your home!

  2. There are many homes that have these hidden features – I think people of the 60s & 70s preferred a more modern look right? But these original features are beautiful 🙂 xx

  3. A lovely hidden treasure that you have found! Looking forward to seeing how you fix it up and show us with another of those sliding photos. How do you do that? I’d like to try that sometime.

    • Thanks Carmen, it is fun finding the lovely bits in the house. Carmen, you’ll find that sliding photo under new Block ‘Media’ and it is called ” image compare” then you upload the 2 images you want to compare. That would work really well on your blog with some different coloured outfits, where you have 2 of them. 🙂 Looking forward to see it on your blog. Keep warm ♥
