Quince jam

Standard

Quince is ripe during this time of year.

It makes my favourite jam and jelly – I love the taste and smell.

So I decided to make my own jam again this year.

 

I could not find the Jam sugar anywhere

so I used Pectin powder and normal sugar.

It came out rather well and tastes delicious. 

 

Here is the outcome for a delicious breakfast,

well more than one. 🙂

    • An old tradition, my mum used to make it and we used to cut them to prepare. I enjoyed that , although hard work, but very rewarding with the delicious jam afterwards.

  1. Oh ja, Quittengelee oder sogar Quittenmus, das liebe ich. Wobei Quittenmus kaum zu bekommen ist. Das ist ja auch sehr viel Arbeit, bis das hergestellt ist.

    • Die Quitten sind hart, doch es ist es wert, da ich die wunderbare marmelade so sehr liebe. Es ist einfach ein tolles Aroma. Meine Mutter hat es immer gemacht und wir Kinder haben geschipfelt. Meine Schwester macht es auch regelmaessig. Wir hatten es zum Fruehstueck, mmmmmmmmh

  2. I’m not familiar with this — mom was not big on trying new things growing up, which I’m making up for as an adult. Google tells me it’s tart. Hmmm. I’m more of a sweets person, but I’ll give it a try! I love making things, though, so I’m impressed with your creation.
