My Christmas cactus

Standard

Last year in December I bought a Christmas Cactus as a gift for someone.

Before I could give it, all buds fell off so I kept it.

Over Spring Summer and Autumn I left it outside in the garden.

In September I noticed that it is forming many buds.

When it got colder in November I took it in.

Watching it every day with joy the buds got bigger.

Today is a very happy day!

They are opening:

What wonderful display, a beautiful red!

I am so overjoyed.

Flowers do make the world laugh!

Teddy Bath

Standard

Teddies get dirty too…

so high time to have a bath.

After 23/27 years they show that they were loved.

Thin on the odd fur place, squeezed flat and mended at some places.

They are all happy though as these are signs of so much love.

So a bath together was fun.

floating on water,

playing, trying to dive….

then time to rinse and dry…

Once dry they can’t wait to go back to their loved owner,

for some more loving.

Spread love, the world needs love.

Quince jam

Standard

Quince is ripe during this time of year.

It makes my favourite jam and jelly – I love the taste and smell.

So I decided to make my own jam again this year.

I could not find the Jam sugar anywhere

so I used Pectin powder and normal sugar.

It came out rather well and tastes delicious.

Here is the outcome for a delicious breakfast,

well more than one. 🙂

Hello November

Standard

Welcome November !

The Motto for November is:

When words are both true and kind,

they can change the world.

Make your words true,

make them kind,

make them count.

Show kindness through your words,

as we cannot show our emotions with hugs these days,

we can show them with kind loving words.

We can’t come together,

we can still show kindness in other ways.

Make November an extra kind month!

The world needs kindness.

Wishing you a wonderfully kind November!
