Weekly Smile #51

Standard

In my Choir we are going to learn a new track.

I had to smile when I heard it and such lovely words:

Smile

Music by Charles Chaplin, Lyrics by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons

Smile, though your heart is aching
Smile, even though it’s breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
you’ll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through
for you

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness Although a tear may be ever so near
That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile what’s the use of crying
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you’ll just
Smile

  1. What a beautiful melody and a fabulous voice! Who’d have thought, Nat King Cole sings a Chaplin tune! Wonderful.
Have a great Christmas and a happy New Year!

  2. Thank you for a happy memory of a song my mom had in her record collection. Nat King Cole sings this song so beautifully. I’d love to hear your choir singing it a cappella.

A smile can hide a thousand tears!
Smile and the whole world smiles with you!

    Fröhliche Weihnachten!
