Count your blessings

Standard

Sometimes I sit back and realise how blessed I am.

I have amazing people in my life,

I am loved,

my friends care about me.

I can’t complain, but count my blessings and

I feel rich –  I am rich.

I bought  myself some flowers yesterday morning and want to share them with you all,

b

They are for you!

Thank you for being you ,

for caring,

for being here in my life!

I do need to tell you this from time to time

as it is important for me to let you know that

I appreciate you and love you!

♥♥♥

Beauty along the road

As I was too early to meet my friends in the next village,

so I went to a very old church yard, and found these little snowbells.

M – Meditate daily. Make goals

Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the world earth revolves – slowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future; live the actual moment. Only this moment is life.

Mindfulness is Buddha’s word for meditation. By mindfulness he means: you should always remain alert, watchful. You should always remain present. Not  a single thing should be done in a sort of sleepy state of mind…. you should move with a sharp consciousness. – Osho

The cracked pot

Standard

I have been reading about mindfulness and I came across this great story.

Once upon a time there was a water bearer who took each day 2 pots of water to his teacher. Each day he would walk to the stream to fill both pots with water and carry them across his shoulders, one pot on each side on a pole. One pot was cracked and by the time he reached his teacher it was only half full. He carried on for years to bring one and half pot of water to his teacher. The perfect pot was proud of his achievement. The cracked pot was sad that he could only do half the job he was supposed to do. One day the cracked pot said “I feel so upset and ashamed and I can’t hold a full pot of water. What use am I to anyone?” The water bearer  told the pot to look at the side on the ground as he carried it. The cracked pot noticed the most beautiful flowers and plants on his side of the path. The water bearer said “When I noticed you were cracked, I decided to plant seeds on one side of the path, and every day as you leak, you water that side of the path. If you weren’t cracked, these gorgeous  flowers wouldn’t be here for all to enjoy.”

Sometimes you may think you are not perfect. This story can show that even a cracked pot can be seen as perfect just as it is. In the same way you are perfect just the way you are with all your imperfections -that’s what makes you unique.

We all have our flaws and it is good to have them as we shine through those flaws differently.

L – Laugh. Love. Learn to let go.

Laughter is one of the greatest and most powerful forms of courage available to you… Laughing at difficult circumstances allows you to face the situation, see it as a molehill instead of a mountain and step anyway… Laughter expands your attitude and your perception as well as your ability to grow and experience new things… Give yourself the incredible gift of laughter today…

lo1

Laughter relaxes the whole body.

Laughter boosts the immune system.

Laughter protects the heart.

Laughter is stress relieving.

Laughter makes you feel good.

Laughter gives you the courage and strength.

Even in the most difficult of times, a laugh–or even simply a smile–can go a long way toward making you feel better. And laughter really is contagious—just hearing laughter primes your brain and readies you to smile and join in the fun.

A laugh is a smile that bursts.  ~Mary H. Waldrip

Laughter in the bible

The name Isaac is from Hebrew and means   “ I will laugh”, this is because Sarah, his mother declared, “God has brought me laughter. All who hear about this will laugh with me.”  Genesis 21:6

In Ecclesiastes 3:4 it says: “A time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance.”

Look upon the past as a sunken cost, an investment in your Life that is irretrievable. You can’t get it back. Then focus your attention on today and on the Future horizon of your own opportunities and begin moving in that direction.

Dodinsky

Standard

I have recently purchesd a book from Dodinsky as I liked what I saw from him on the internet. It is called “In the garden of thoughts”. It is beautifully illustrated and has amazing uplifting quotes which can help every day in it.

I took my favourites and made them myself on pictures I had. (except the last one, that picture came from google)

What’s done is done; what is gone is gone. One of life’s lessons is keep moving.

It’s OK to look back and think of fond memories, but always keep moving forward.

Ute – Land of the Sun

Standard

The name Ute was given to me by my mum, she had a doll called Ute and loved this name.

The meaning: Ute has its origins in the Germanic language and it is used largely in German. It is derived from the word ‘uod’ which means “wealth, fortune”. The male version of this name is Otto, which is one of my grandad’s name. Also it comes up as  a Japanese name, japanese origin meaning “song”

So I am not really sure which one to choose….. but…

☼☼☼

Through Google, RoSy and another blog from Sharla I found more about  Ute which I found rather interesting:

Utah was Mexican territory when the first pionees arrived in 1847. It became the 45th state admitted to the union on January 4, 1896. The name Utah is derived from the name of the Ute Tribe. The University of Utah has adopted the Ute as its mascot. The word Ute means “Land of the sun” in their language. Ute possibly derived from the western Apache word “Yudah” meaning “high up”. This had led to the misconception that Ute means people high up or mountain people.

I do love the meaning “Land of the sun” and I shall stick to that one now. My mum told me that I was always a sunshine in her life and always a cheerful and happy child. There we have it… Proof!

So I shall keep the sunshine going,

keep dancing,

keep smiling,

and sending the sunshine from my heart out to everyone else!

Have a beautiful, bright day from the Land of the Sun!
