Autumn Beauty

Standard

My mum told me that the tree outside her room has such beautiful colours.

Shame that not all people see it, she says.

I have seen the tree and I am so happy my mum sees and enjoys the beauty in life still.

autumn

Yellow, golden, green and red,

leaves on the trees and on the ground.

Beauty all around!

Leisure

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?

No time to stand beneath the boughs,
And stare as long as sheep and cows:

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night:

No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance:

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began?

A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

Take your time!

Life is worth noticing!

Have a beautiful, colourful day!

  1. I love the photo showing the Autumn colours and the fact Mom still takes the time to notice the beauty of it… as for the W’H’ Davies poem on Leisure… brilliant..

    • If you walk trough a forest of those trees, like on top of a hil in Germany you see all these beautiful colours. We used to walk every year to a little chapel at my dad’s birthday which is in a couple of days. It is amazing what shades and colours you see! I guess it si different in Israel.

      • It is very different in Israel because there is no real fall/autumn. We don’t have such rich and varied forests and such extreme changes of seasons. I remember the wonderful Herbstlaub in Germany but don’t recall the colors to be this outstanding!

Love to hear from you......
